A 6800 Computer System

Bill Vodall found this system. The front panel has added handles. This is a good example of an early SWTPC system. The bright aluminum trim was found on early 6800 systems, the later 6800/2 had black trim.

The motherboard is shown with 3 MP-M 4K memory boards, a MP-A CPU board and a MP-C control interface. The monitor ROM is MIKBUG. The system was loaded with six 4K memory boards and many I/O cards. Notice the discoloration of the transformer, it may have been running warm.

The rear panel on the early 6800 had no holes punched for DB-25 connectors, these came with the 6800/2 systems with MP-A2 CPU board..
