The file, "CPM22b14-24K-SDC-Unconfigured.NSI" is CP/M 2.2b ver 1.4 for the North Star single density controller. This image is sized for 24K of RAM and has no console I/O configured. Booting this disk intentionally hangs in the cold-start entry point of the user area so the operator can stop the machine and manually patch memory for machine-specific I/O. Details of this process are in the USER.PRN file. As an alternative to using MOVCPM, SYSGEN, etc., the North Star disk exerciser program (NODEXER) on this disk, which is generally used to test and align a floppy drive, can be used to directly read and write the USER area sector in the boot tracks on the floppy (track 2, sector 8 contains the first 256 bytes of the user area on disk).
